Both Amcrest and Lorex offer the same recording resolution of 1080p @30 fps. Amcrest offers better optical zoom factor up to 20x as opposed with only 12x optical zoom offered by Lorex. However Lorex adds value with 16x digital zoom. Optical zoom offers much better image quality result than digital zoom that normally demonstrates noise. The more digital zoom you take the more noise the image result.
Night vision
Both Amcrest and Lorex offer night vision feature, Amcrest with its 4xIR LEDs can illuminate object at distance up to 300 ft, far enough to monitor your property at night. Lorex features an ultra-low light sensitive image sensor and therefore does not feature Infra-Red LEDs, it needs ambient light to produce image. No light or completely darkness, it doesn’t work. See also Lorex LNB4321 that features color night vision in ambient light, however produce black and white recording in darkness.
