Amcrest IP5M-1176E vs Hikvision vs GW Security
Amcrest introduces new models of 5mp outdoor POE cameras – the Amcrest IP5m-1176E bullet model and Amcrest IP5m-1173E dome model camera.
Appreciations come from customers thank to the sharp and clear picture, daytime resolution is awesome, well built camera, easy to setup with its manuals, quick start guide and the software, and everything is excellent. You will find superb images as good as a fine still camera can produce, either during day time or night.
Amcrest IP5m-1176e comparison
Previously Amcrest introduced two models of dome and bullet model with lower resolution of 4mp with intelligent digital varifocal zoom lens i.e. Amcrest IP4m-1056e dome model camera and Amcrest IP4m-1054e bullet model POE camera.

Now let’s compare the Amcrest IP5m-1176e 5mp IP security camera model with other competing dome model offered by Hikvision and GW Security cameras.
Table 1 shows you spec comparison between Amcrest IP5m-1176e and Hikvision DS-2CD2352-I, and table 2 shows you spec comparison between Amcrest and GW Security.
Amcrest IP5m-1176e is built up using Sony IMX322 CMOS 2.8mm fixed lens with intelligent digital zoom providing adjustable focal length between 70~96 degree field of view angle. Hikvision offers fixed lens 2.8mm with fixed 106 degree view angle. While GW Security GW5189MIP is built up using varifocal lens ranging 2.8~12mm with 4x motorized optical zoom providing you 22~115 degree viewing angle you can control using the app either viewed locally or view remotely using your mobile devices.
GW Security GW5189 is preference regarding the camera lens with 4x optical motorized lens with sharp and clear image quality compared with digital zoom.
All the three products offer the same resolution, even though frame rate is different. Amcrest and Hikvision offer the same resolution @20 frame per second (fps), GW Security offers lower fps @15 and real time 3mp @30 fps.
All the three products support night vision with nearly the same range distance of around 100 ft (30m), however the IR LEDs used is different. Amcrest IP5m-1176 5mp IP security camera consists of 24pcs IR LED, GW Security 36 pcs while Hikvision used Hikvision EXIR LED technology. With EXIR LED technology the camera provides a highly-efficient light source and enhanced LED light strength, 30% more illuminant efficiency over traditional LED array technology.
Amcrest IP5m-1176 and GW5198MIP are not designed with two way communication, but Hikvision is. Hikvision is equipped two way audio interface you may add external speaker and Microphone for audio communication.
All the three products are not PTZ outdoor cameras, however Hikvision with Turret dome model is designed with three axis for panning, tilting and rotation manual adjustment. Zooming is done digitally for Amcrest, no zooming for Hikvision and GW security offers motorized 4x optical zoom you can control using the app.

All the three products are tagged with nearly the same price around $150 and dropped by time up to $110. Amcrest and Hikvison offer the same fps @5mp resolution, GW security offers lower 15 fps @5mp resolution. However GW Security 5mp IP security camera offers varifocal 4x motorized optical zoom.
