Best Value for Money Ezviz vs Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera

If you want to have a floodlight camera that functions with full features without having to subscribe to cloud storage, then Ezviz offers the Ezviz lc1c floodlight camera with local memory storage. You can compare with Arlo pro 3 floodlight camera or Ring that doesn’t feature local storage to store video footage.

In this article:

What this Ezviz LC1C does

The Ezviz LC1C is a combination of an outdoor security camera with motion activated floodlight to illuminate your front yard with a bright light. This 2000 lumen bright floodlight can be triggered automatically when the PIR sensor detects motion detection. Or you can manually toggle the floodlight through the app on your mobile device with the app including the 100db siren if you need to trigger it on.

Floodlights

Ezviz designed the two floodlights to be placed on the left and right side of the security camera and the PIR-sensor with flexible axis so that you can adjust the direction of the light as needed, can be rotated either horizontally or vertically. And what’s unique about this floodlight is that you can adjust the brightness via the app as needed up to 2000 lumens, quite bright like other floodlight cameras in general such as Arlo or Ring. Arlo vs Ezviz Floodlight Camera

As a reference you can use table 1 below that presents spec comparison for Arlo vs Ezviz floodlight cameras to help you make a decision which one to purchase.

Recording resolution

Ezviz lc1c can’t beat the resolution offered by Arlo because Arlo pro-3 comes with twice as high resolution as most floodlight cameras in general which only have 1080p resolution, including this ezviz lc1c. In addition, the Arlo with 2k resolution supports 12x digital zoom which allows you to zoom in object in distance more detail and is sharper than zooming in on camera with 1080p.

However, Arlo supports only H.264 encoding compared with Ezviz which supports H.265 besides H.264. H.265 compression format is up to 50% more efficient than H.264 compression.

Motion detection

Ezviz lc1c combine both standard motion detection and PIR sensor with wide 270 degree coverage. This ensures the accuracy of motion detection so as to ensure that only the most important matter triggers an alert to your phone and automatically triggers the floodlight at night and if necessary you can toggle the siren.

One thing that ezviz cannot do is motion detection which then activates auto tracking following the people who are moving in your customized zone detection and at the same time automatically zoom in so that it can provide a clearer and closer picture.

You may also subscribe Arlo secure plan which offers you richer features including animated preview, object detection (such kind of AI technology to differentiate a person, vehicle, animal or package) and fast emergency responses.

Memory local storage

Ezviz lc1c is equipped with a micro SD card memory slot that allows you to install memory card up to 256GB capacity, which is very large to store video footage that you need to store including video alert snapshots. See also new Reolink Floodlight camera with two cameras lenses and local memory.

Arlo is not equipped with memory storage on the camera. Besides the cloud storage option, if you have other Arlo wire-free cameras with a base station with disk storage then you can store your video data on the base station. This Arlo floodlight camera can connect to your wifi network directly without going through the base station like other Arlo wire-free cameras.

Floodlight Arrays

Both floodlight cameras are equipped with floodlight arrays with a brightness of up to 2000 lumens. However with Arlo pro 3 can go up to 3000 lumens with additional outdoor magnetic charging. Arlo’s floodlight arrays packed in one bar and only aimed at one common view angle. The Ezviz lc1c is equipped with two floodlight arrays, each of which can be rotated on their axis to adjust the viewing angle as needed.

Power

Unlike Ezviz lc1c that only supports hard wired power (110 ~240AC), Arlo gives you options to add solar power in addition of rechargeable battery and DC power. Installing outdoor where power outlet is not available is sometimes frustrating to install, but with Arlo you are not.
