Foscam introduces new Foscam F41 floodlight security camera with 2k resolution and dual band wifi connection. How good this product will compete with other floodlight security camera products have been around in the market including Amcrest ash26 and Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight?
Foscam F41
Like floodlight security cameras in general, where the floodlights will be triggered ON when there is motion detection, Foscam f41 is also a security camera with floodlights that will turn on when the PIR sensor detects heat or human motion. Not all motion detected can trigger floodlights to turn on and send alerts to your Smartphone, but only detect human movement entering your customized detection zone. With human detection only will reduce false alerts.
2k Resolution
Mostly floodlight security cameras on the market today come with 1080p resolution; call it the Amcrest ash26; Lorex v261lcd; Ezviz Lc1c and still more. The Foscam f41 comes one step further with 2k resolution like popular Arlo Pro 3 floodlight, twice as high resolution as Amcrest ash26 and Lorex v2611cd.
With 2k you can live view via your mobile device and perform zoom in with image quality result still sharp still much better than a camera with 1080p resolution. Of course, this Foscam floodlight camera has its own charm with double resolution as those ones in general.
Wider Coverage
Unlike floodlight cameras in general which mostly come with a single PIR sensor, Foscam is equipped with four PIR sensors so that it provides a wider coverage of about 270 degrees, so that it almost does not leave a blind spot in your property monitoring zone.

Cons
- No battery, in case of power outage you will have no event history stored in local memory
One of the cons of this product is that it is not equipped with a battery like most floodlight cameras such as Arlo and Amcrest. When a power outage, it could be sabotage by criminal acts of those who want to enter your property, then you will lose control of your camera.

Foscam f41 vs Amcrest vs Arlo
Foscam released this product with tagged price around $175 in Amazon, this product will become main competitor to the existing floodlight camera products available in the market for a while such as the Arlo Pro 3 floodlight and also Amcrest ash26.

Video resolution
Foscam f41 is designed with higher video resolution up to 2k (4.0MP) @25 fps, delivers twice as high resolution as Amcrest ash26 for more image details, same resolution as Arlo Pro 3 floodlight. However, Arlo delivers @15 fps with the same 2k resolution. With wire-free feature powered by battery, Arlo can only deliver up to 15 fps @ 2k resolution.
Floodlight
When compared to Amcrest, the floodlights offered by Foscam f41 delivers brighter light up to 2600lm and 5000k color temperatures. You can compare to Arlo which also offers floodlight up to 2000lm, but can reach up to 3000lm with the addition of an outdoor magnetic charging cable.
Foscam illuminates light with 5000 Kelvin color temperature of a crystal white glow light. While Amcrest’s color temperature is 3000 Kelvin a soft white glow light, while Arlo with 4000 Kelvin provides a daylight glow color.
In addition, all the three products come with built-in siren you configure to trigger automatically or you can manually trigger via your mobile devices.
Storage
All the motion detection alerts sent to your mobile device, the video footage is recorded in either local memory on the camera or stored in the cloud. Foscam and Amcrest floodlight cameras are equipped with local memory storage, while Arlo has no local memory storage. So that’s why with Arlo you need to subscribe to cloud storage plan.
