GW Security 32 Channel NVR kit vs Amcrest
In a project to install surveillance security system up to 32 cameras, it is better to consider 32 channel dvr / nvr system kit from the same vendor such as GW Security, Amcrest, Lorex and still more that have released various models to the market that consist of up to 24 or 32 high resolution 4k security cameras. We’ll discuss one of popular GW Security 32 channel dvr / nvr system kit and compare this with Amcrest 32 channel nvr system. See also Lorex 32 channel vr system kit vs GW Security.
GW Security 32 Channel
GW Security released several security camera system kits with number of channels ranging from 16 to 32 and paired with 4k AI security cameras that can recognize faces, thereby ensuring the motion detection snapshot sent to your mobile device shows the faces of strangers entering your property, reducing false alert.
One of GW Security 32 channel nvr system kit offered is combination of GW7832N NVR system and 24pcs of GW8750IP AI security cameras.
The recording unit in this surveillance system kit is GW Security Gw7832n NVR system; it’s a 32 channel security nvr system that supports up to 4K resolution, 24/7 continuous recording, allows you to access local or remote access with easy QR Code scan and support local Hard disk storage up to 20TB.
We’ll compare this NVR system kit with Amcrest NV5232E that comes with 6TB hard disk and you can connect up to 32 4k security cameras and this time this NVR unit is paired with Amcrest ip8m-mb2546 or you may also consider Amcrest IP8m-mt2544 turret 4k camera.
Built-in POE Switch
Both of these NVR systems are 32 channel NVR systems and can support up to 12MP resolution, or generally 4k resolution which allow full 4K security camera connection to 32 channels @ 30 fps. All Onvif compliant third party security camera models can support considering that both NVR systems are Onvif compliant.
The main apparent different is the built-in POE Switch each of the nvr system. GW Security Gw7832n nvr system doesn’t come with built-in POE switch, so you need to purchase separate 32-port POE switch. Good thing is that in this surveillance 32 channel nvr system kit comes with two separate 16-port POE switches to support all 32 channels POE security camera connections.
On the other hand, Amcrest NV5232E comes with built-in 16-port POE Switch, so you need to purchase separate another 8/16-port POE Switch such as Amcrest 8-Ports POE+ 802.3af/at 96w (AGPS8E8P-AT-96).
GW Security GW7832N supports synchronous playback 32 channels up to 8MP @30 fps. On the other hand Amcrest NV5232E NVR system supports view up to 4CH @ 4K @ 30fps simultaneously and the NVR will dial the remaining channels to 1080P @ 30fps. GW Security here is more superior in synchronous playback and live view up to 32 channel @8MP #30 fps.
All other features and specs are almost the same, including maximum storage capacity with 2x SATA up to 20TB hard disk, alarm In/Out, VGA/HDMI port interfaces, etc.

GW Security GW8837IP
GW Security releases new models of security camera with AI (Artificial Intelligent) features such as face recognition that match the face database with deep learning technology, one of the product with 15+ AI features is GW Security GW8837IP.
The AI features reduce the likelihood that your camera will send false alerts, so that only very important situations require your response. This reduces the burden on security personnel with matters that do not require special attention in a large area of business.
We’ll compare this product with one of its competing product – Amcrest ip8m-mb2546 security camera.
Both GW8837ip and IP8m-mb2546 are designed with 4k resolution @15 fps and both cameras come with high quality Sony Starvis Image sensor with very low minimum illuminations so in very low light conditions the cameras can still record and view in color with brighter image than image sensor in general.
Both cameras are also support 4x optical zoom with varifocal lens. However, GW Security gw8837ip doesn’t support motorized optical zoom like Amcrest ip8m-mb2546. So you need to adjust the desired view angle manually ranging from 120 degree (Wide) up to 20degree (Tele). With Amcrest you can adjust the zoom in on the fly with its motorized 4x optical zoom.
Both cameras come with high quality Sony Starvis image sensor which performs best in low light condition. When night comes and there is still ambient light around the cameras as low as minimum illumination 0.01lux (Amcrest is 0.05lux) both gw8837ip and ip8m-mb2546 can still record and view color night vision. Unless, the camera will switch to black and white night vision with IR LEDs up to certain distance as shown on the table.

The advantage of GW Security compared to Amcrest is AI (artificial intelligent) features which include 15+ AI features including area intrusion, line crossing, region entrance /region exiting , fast moving, object missing, unattended object, loitering detection, parking detection, face detection, people gathering detection. Amcrest ip8m-mb2546 doesn’t support AI features, should you require Amcrest with AI features, you may consider Amcrest ip4m-1046e-AI bullet model camera and Amcrest ip4m-1048e-AI turret model camera, and both of the last two products are full color 24/7 security camera and feature Artificial Intelligent including face detection and recognition.
Now, you can make up your mind which 32 channel nvr surveillance kit is suitable to meet your business. GW Security 32 channel nvr system that includes 8TB hard disk storage, 2x 16-port POE Switches and 24pcs of gw8837ip 4k AI security cameras is tagged with the price around $4,300.
With Amcrest 32 channel nvr system and 6TB hard disk, not include the cameras is tagged around $570.0 in Amazon.
You may add Amcrest ip8m-mb2546 4k outdoor POE cameras to connect to recording system up to 32 cameras, or combinations with other third party Onvif compliant cameras.
For homes environment, you may consider Amcrest ASH26 floodlight camera or another model offered by Ezviz – the Ezviz LC1C floodlight camera, both models are color night vision cameras with floodlight triggered ON by motion detection.
Or you may also consider Vava Cam Pro wire-free cameras for home environment.
