In the past when we talked about wire-free cameras, what would come to our minds was Arlo wire-free cameras. Now, wire-free cameras have been produced by several security camera vendors including Amcrest, Reolink, TP-link and still many more.
Kasa Outdoor cameras
Following its success in Kasa KC200 outdoor camera, TP-Link is now releasing its new product Kasa KC300 wire-free camera system. Unlike Kasa KC200 which is designed with plug-in power, the Kasa KC300 is designed wire-free with a rechargeable battery and hub station like Arlo. See also Arlo Pro 3 wire-free camera system with 2k resolution.

Kasa KC200 vs KC300
As discussed briefly, the most obvious difference between the two Kasa series KC200 and KC300 products is the power source where the KC300 is supplied by a rechargeable battery so that’s why it is a wire-free camera while the KC200 uses a power adapter.
Both series of Kasa outdoor cameras use the same fixed lens, the same 1080p resolution @30 fps, the same field of view angle (130 degree) and are also two way audio support to allow you communicate in two way direction.
Wifi
The other difference is about the built-in wifi adapter. Kasa KC200 comes with recent wireless ac dual band wifi, while KC300 comes with only single band wireless n adapter. See also new Wyze floodlight cam Pro.
Why is the latest KC300 series only single band wireless n compared to KC200 which has dual band wifi ac? Of course it is reasonable because the KC200 is designed to be able to connect to your existing wifi network at home that might already be using a wifi ac router. On the other hand, Kasa KC300 is designed to be connected to the Kasa Hub station like Arlo and its Arlo base station.
Kasa vs Reolink vs Amcrest
Now we try to compare how good the features of Kasa KC300 wire-free compared with Reolink Argus 2 wire-free system and also the Amcrest smart home camera system.
