Lorex lnb8974 is one of new lines of 4k security camera products offered by Lorex with 4x optical zoom instead of only digital zoom like Lorex lnb8005 or Lorex lnb8111 4k security camera.
What this product does
Lorex is popular with its CNV (color night vision) technology – a night vision with color recording as long as there is still ambient light. However when it is completely dark, the camera recording shifts to black and white recording like other standard night vision cameras. So that’s way all the Lorex with CNV feature is nocturnal IP security camera.
With fixed lens you can’t customize the view angle or zoom out for wide angle view or all the zoom in for Tele view for object in distance, but with varifocal lens you can do that. Lorex lnb8974 is built with varifocal lens, the variation of focal length ranging between 2.7~12 mm provides you variation of field of view angle between 102 degree wide angle up to 39 degree Tele view angle for all the way zoom in.

One of advantages of Lorex lnb8973 and some other Lorex cameras is the color night vision (CNV) technology applied to the system. you still can view color video at night as long as there is still ambient light up to 175 ft distance. In completely darkness, the system shifts to black and white video and range up to 270 ft. Amcrest and Hikvision don’t feature color night vision.
