Reolink is one of the new security camera manufacturers from China that releases many DIY camera products which are arguably quite good products and at affordable prices, especially for home consumers and small businesses. On the other hand, Hikvision is a big security camera vendor for professional needs and to supply medium to large business needs. To meet home global consumers needs Hikvision founded Ezviz (see Ezviz website).
Reolink vs Ezviz
Which of these two vendors give you best value? It depends what your home or small business security need; mostly Ezviz products are specifically designed for home consumers. On the other hand, Reolink products are suitable for either home or small business needs.
We will compare several flagship products from each of the vendors, and you can make up your mind which one suits your home or small business needs.
Reolink Argus vs Ezviz C3x
One of Reolink products that support color night vision is Reolink Argus 3; it’s a wire-free camera. How does Reolink Argus 3 compare with Ezviz C3x dual lens color night vision camera?
Reolink releases Argus 3 following its first spotlight camera product Reolink Lumus that supports color night vision. Both Lumus and Argus 3 come with spotlights, but the brightness is around 200lumen different. Argus 3 is battery powered, but Lumus is not.
Ezviz C3x is one of Ezviz’s flagship products that offers color night vision, however it has different way in rendering color night vision not like color night vision camera in general. Ezviz c3x comes with dual lens technology to render bright and vivid color night vision.

Color night vision
Both spotlight camera models come with fixed lens with full HD 1080p @15fpps like most floodlight cameras in the market such as Eufy or Amcrest ash26, you can enable the spotlights manually via your mobile with Reolink app to illuminate the yard and watch the live view in color night vision. The spotlights can also be triggered by motion detection and send the alerts color snapshot footage to your mobile device.
Lens
What distinguishes the ezviz c3x camera and the Reolink Argus 3 in providing color night vision is that ezviz uses the two-lens method instead of one lens like security camera in general. So it doesn’t just rely on light to render color, but uses a two-lens approach in addition to light where the results of the two lenses are combined to produce rich and realistic color details.
Reolink argus 3 uses two spotlights up to 230 lumen to illuminate the surrounding to render color night vision. You can trigger the spotlights manually or it can be triggered on automatically by motion detection.
Power
The other thing that makes Reolink argus 3 is different is that this camera is powered by battery, or solar panel in addition of DC power adapter so with wifi connection this is a wire-free camera. Ezviz is not powered by battery but DC adapter.
Wire-free
With built-in wifi adapter, the camera connects wirelessly to your existing wifi network in home. In addition this camera is powered by rechargeable battery, or you may connect to Reolink solar panel. With battery powered and built-in wifi adapter, this camera can work without wired, it’s a wire-free security camera. Unlike Argus 3, Ezviz c3x is not powered by battery but DC adapter.
This product is like other wire-free security cameras in general, but it doesn’t need a base station to connect to the network like most wire-free kits such as Wyse cam outdoor, Kasa or Arlo.

Both of the above camera models can be used either indoor or outdoor. What about the security camera for indoor use? We take one of Reolink indoor cameras (Reolink E1 Pro) and one of Ezviz product (Ezviz e6w).
Ezviz vs Reolink Indoor camera
One of the most popular home indoor cameras from reolink is the reolink e1 series, this time we take one of the popular series, Reolink e1 Pro and compare it with the ezviz C6w. Let see and compare which of these two products provides the best value for your home.
Reolink offers the Ei pro with the price about 40% cheaper than the ezviz c6w. Let’s see if this price difference is worth the technical spec of this reolink product. Please refer to table 2 below which shows you spec comparison between Reolink e1 pro and ezviz c6w.

Both products are indoor wireless home security camera with Panning and Tilting features and digital zoom and the recording resolution is the same as 2k @25fps, smooth enough slightly slower than the real time frame rates.
There are few technical differences between these two products and the following paragraphs discuss these differences.
WDR
Unlike reolink which does not feature wdr, ezviz comes with a true wdr (Wide dynamic range) feature. With the WDR feature, the camera will challenge to display scene that are still sharp, vivid and balanced when there are two bright and dark conditions in one frame.
For example video conditions inside the house scene during the sunny day while outside the house the weather is bright and sunny. If you take pictures in this room with a camera without the WDR feature, the result will be over exposed outside the house and under exposed inside the house, the scene result tends to be overexposed and underexposed. With WDR feature enable, you will get proper scene result.

Smart feature
Many security cameras now have smart AI (Artificial Intelligent) features, not only detecting any motion but only detecting human and vehicle motions so that only important events trigger alerts. Ezviz has more value with an AI feature that only detects humans that will trigger alerts.
Unlike ezviz, Reolink e1 pro is not equipped with AI features like other new reolink products that mostly come with AI features. However, reolink gives more value by recording 4s before the alert occurs so that your video footage has a more complete history before the alert sent than the one that is sent when the event start triggering the alert.
Storage
When the camera detects the motion, the camera starts recording for a few seconds and the video footage is stored on the camera’s memory storage or on the recording unit (nvr or dvr or hub station) or even the cloud storage. Both products have a memory slot that you can insert the micro SD card as a local memory storage that you can access at any time as long as the recording is still there. Note that the memory storage capacity between the two products is different.
