Ring Doorbell Series
There are at least three series of Ring doorbells on the market today and showcased at Ring website, they are:

- Video doorbell Pro series
- Video doorbell elite

The main difference between doorbells 3 and 4 lies in the presence of a pre roll video 4 seconds before the event is triggered. Ring claims this pre-roll video feature is unique and first to the market for battery power doorbell.
Ring doorbell Pro
What about the pro series? There two models of the Pro series, the pro and the pro 2 models. The following spec and features comparison table 2 shows you what they are. See that the recording resolution is different between Ring Pro and Ring pro 2, pro 2 is higher resolution than the pro 1 and the HDR feature is also applicable.

The other difference is the wifi connectivity to the network. See that Ring Pro 2 is ready with wireless ac as opposed to wireless n for pro 1. Connecting to wireless ac network is faster than to standard wireless n network. Meanwhile, the latest today’s wifi technology is the 6th generation one (wifi-6 aka wireless ax).
Now, let’s discuss briefly what the Arlo doorbell series come to the market. There are two series of Arlo doorbell available in the market today – the Arlo wired doorbell and Arlo wire-free doorbell.
Arlo wired vs Arlo wire-free

Ring is the pioneer of video camera doorbell in the market with two way audio and advanced motion detection and customized zone and then followed by other security camera vendors including Netgear with Arlo doorbell, Amcrest doorbell, Lorex doorbell etc.

Unlike Arlo essential that comes only with single band @2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n wifi standard, Ring Pro 2 doorbell comes with 5th Generation of wifi technology 802.11ac with dual band supports either @2.4GHz or 5GHz radio band for cleaner band. Even though your home wifi network is already using wifi-6 router, both Arlo and Ring pro 2 can be compatible with latest wireless ax router such as Asus xt8 or Orbi wifi 6 mesh routers.
Ring doorbell pro is not equipped with memory storage which allows you to save video snapshot when there is motion detection which then triggers the camera to record the event and send it to your mobile device in real time. Ring without a protection plan works just like the one with protection plan except you can’t save your video footage to share with everyone.
Arlo smart plan allows you for smart services including accurate smart detection for human, vehicle and animal not just all sorts of motion detection.
